#MYHUSTL WITH ELIZABETH.

Each month we feature a community member to find out more about their journey, how they like to HUSTL. and for a special insight into their world. The community makes HUSTL. what it is and you all truly mean the world to me, so I am excited to share an insight into the incredible individuals that make up this strong, beautiful and inspiring community. I love you, Alexz. xo

Meet Elizabeth, online HUSTL. Station member since June 2022.

You're a Nutritionist... Tell us a little about yourself & your fitness journey.
I live in Lennox Head, and work between Byron Bay and Palm Beach on the Gold Coast so I’m definitely spoiled location wise! I feel really lucky to have always enjoyed exercise, it’s been something that I’ve always prioritised.

While I’ve always enjoyed exercise I haven’t always had the best relationship with it. I would often get into a routine with exercise, over do it, get injured or burn out, have to take time off, make myself feel back for taking time off and would continuously repeat this cycle. During times like this I was also neglecting to support my body with food, under fuelling for exercise which only added to the equation.

Over the last couple of years I’ve really challenged the way that I think about exercise and how my diet ties in with it. Now I’m committed to supporting my body with the foods that I eat so that I have enough energy to get through a day of life tasks with exercise on top to ensure that I’m not in an energy deficit for either!

I listen to my body now, I’m more in tune with when I need to rest or when I need to dial it back a bit and can now maintain more of a consistent routine. I feel like my relationship with these things has developed into something that's really supportive of my mental and physical health and HUSTL.has been a big part of this process.

I’m also a nutritionist and studied a bachelor of health science in nutrition and dietetics. During my studies I was fascinated in how we can use food to support optimal physical and mental health, one of my favourite subjects was sports nutrition, a lot of people think that this is only relevant to elite athletes but it’s also really important for everyday people who are exercising on a daily basis.

Having those foundations in place and knowing what nutrients we need to fuel our bodies with to aid performance we can really get the most out of working out whilst also understanding that we need to rest, nourish and recover if we’re going to be able to maintain a sustainable exercise practice. This knowledge has helped me with my relationship with exercise and food whilst also allowing me to support my clients to do the same.

What made you decide to join HUSTL.?
I had been going to Alexz’s classes before she opened HUSTL. and loved how fun, loud and strong her classes were, they were totally different to anything I had done before and I loved that. When she announced her own studio I followed!

What does your workout routine look like each week?
A combination of things, I’ll usually do three form classes, one pace class and add in some beach walks, a couple of runs depending on what else is going on in my week.

One piece of advice you would share with the community?
Listen to your body, cut out the noise and comparison when it comes to diet - keep it simple and aim for 3 nutritionally balanced meals per day.

What do you love most about HUSTL.?
The environment that Alexz has created at the studio really nurtures a strong, supportive and sweaty group of women who aren’t scared to be themselves and show up to do their thing. I actually met some of my best friends at HUSTL. I love the trainers online and in the studio and always come away from a workout feeling like I’ve achieved something and challenged my body and my mind.

Favourite HUSTL. workout?
I loved the Core Define Challenge - I took a bit of time off pilates earlier this year to train for a half marathon so lost some strength in my core, this challenge really got my strength back up and reset my form.
