5 WAYS TO COMBAT LOCKDOWN BLUES.
When spa days, fitness studios and cafes are off the menu it can be difficult to find ways to relax. We’ve all become a little too familiar with the word lockdown at some point – it’s a frustrating time and can seriously impact our mental health. In light of the latest lockdown here in Australia and other parts of the world, I have listed five self-care practices you can do at home (tried and tested). Because I love you and if this can help bring at least one person out of lockdown blues I will be happy.
-
IF YOU CAN’T DO IT, DREAM IT.
Sit back, relax and plan out your dream holiday, even if you can’t physically get there for a little while it can be an enjoyable experience to put pen to paper and plan it all out for future you and your chosen ones. Bonus, this is a manifestation exercise – if you think about it long and hard enough, the universe will eventually reflect these thoughts back to you.
-
ONE WOMAN SHOW.
everyone knows how much I love to blare music and sing/ dance at the top of my lungs on the best of days. I can highly vouch for the positive impact this has on any mood, and the best part about doing this while in lockdown is that absolutely NOBODY is there to hear/see you miss a beat.
-
MAX RELAX.
Light your favourite candle and take a long, luxurious bath/ shower. Use up all those gorgeous products you have never had the time to use and activate full self-care mode, because why the hell not. Now is the time to finally use the bath bomb and face mask you received from your neighbour at Christmas. Yes, well all have them.
-
SPREAD THE LOVE.
You know those long, overdue catch up calls that we always seem to delay because of life’s chaos – well angel, we have now been blessed with quality time to dial in. I can guarantee you will hang up the phone with a full heart and a boosted mood after checking in on a loved one – we all need it more now than ever.
-
GET SWEATY.
Nothing boosts a mood more than a sweat, I can actually say I am not a properly functioning human until I have moved my body – I rely so heavily on endorphins to keep me sane. 20 minutes is all it takes, and you can start with any of the home workouts available on our online platform.
I love you all,
Alexz. xo
