We start off the year feeling motivated to set and achieve a bunch of huge goals to better ourselves. They might be health-related, financial, personal or professional, and the changes you can make in just 6 months is astounding in all of these areas.

But while we’re working away on our bigger goals this year, I wanted to remind you the importance and significance of smaller goals and daily habits that can transform your overall wellbeing. These are little rituals you can introduce into your daily life that will help you achieve your bigger goals in the long run.

Keep reading for a few life-changing self care habits to create this year. My angel, I challenge you to pick one and make time for the practice daily and grow it from there. You’ll love the difference this makes in your life!

This may be an obvious one, but meditation is so powerful. Regular practice can reduce stress, promote productivity and focus, and help to regulate your mood. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but the good news is that there are other ways to meditate (like while walking!), and apps such as Headspace offer a bunch of great programs to follow pending your personal preferences and interests.

“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” - Oprah Winfrey

I just love this quote and it is something I live by. There is so much research out there to support that daily gratitude practice has a hugely positive impact on people’s mental and physical health, and helps increase feelings of happiness and positivity. Every morning, take some time to write or think of 3 things you’re grateful for and invite more joy into your life.

Self love

Would you talk to your friend the way you talk to yourself? If the answer is no, please my angel, make more room for self love this year. It’s a saying we love to throw around, but try and bring it into the everyday. Because when you practise self love your perspective of yourself and the world around you shifts. It also becomes easier to form healthy habits when you truly start to value yourself more. It’s all connected - so more self love baby!

You deserve a life of abundance and happiness my darling. I hope this year is filled with personal growth, happiness and love.

I love you,

Alexz. Xo
