SPICED APPLE PORRIDGE OATS

1 apple

45g (½ cup) rolled oats

125ml (½ cup) milk of choice, plus extra to serve

¼ tsp ground cinnamon

Pinch of ground nutmeg

Chopped roasted almonds, to serve

 

1 Grate half the apple, dice remaining half. Combine oats, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, the grated apple apple and 125ml (½ cup) water in a small saucepan. Bring to the boil over a medium-high heat, then reduce heat and cook, stirring, for 3-4 minutes or until porridge is thick and creamy. 

 

2 Drizzle porridge with a little extra milk (or dollop of natural yoghurt). Top with almonds and diced apple to serve.
